PACKAGING INNOVATIONS 2017: Bags of ideas, bags of potential...

Bags of Ideas: cooking bags from Sirane

BAGS of Ideas – a new campaign from Sirane aimed at showcasing our varied cooking bag solutions – will form the focus of our stand at Packaging Innovations next month.

Sirane offers a wide selection of cooking bags – from oven to microwave, BBQ to sous-vide and incorporating flavoured cooking bag options – there’s something for everyone.

Bags of Ideas brings everything together under one banner, in one simple to use catalogue, and helps guide the customer through the process of choosing what works for them.

Simon Balderson, Sirane MD, said: “Bags of ideas, bags of innovation and bags of possibilities. Sirane’s range of cooking bags has it all. Whether you want to steam cook in the oven or microwave, roast in the oven, or have a bag to throw on the BBQ, we can help.

“We can help guide you through the many options we have to help you decide what cooking bag will work best for you. Whether it be a non-stick BBQ bag or a printed steam-cooking bag, a bag with a special vent or a bag with added flavours, you decide.

“The choices can sometimes seem daunting, but we’re here to help you make the right decision, as the right cooking bag can have a hugely positive impact on sales…”

Cooking bags offered by Sirane include our Sira-Cook Supreme bags for oven or BBQ, and a new addition was recently added to the options – creating ‘bags of flavour’.

The new addition uses a blend of kilned beech mixed with frozen herbs and spices, which are placed in a sachet and slipped below the bag’s siliconized layer.

Simon Balderson, Sirane MD, said: “We’ve got a great range of cooking bag solutions, and the next step for us is to find ways of making the bags even more innovative. This is a fairly simple idea, but one which transforms a cooking bag in to a bag of flavour.

“This could be a great option for retailers and a very versatile solution. It could be used over the counter with fresh food, supplied shipped into store with the flavour sachet already in the bag, or could even be used as part of a meal kit for the consumer to use.”

The Sira-Cook Supreme bag is simple to use, cooks food to perfection – and can be used in almost any cooking environment, from ovens to barbecues, griddles to hot plates. The wood chip sachet blended with herbs and spices is placed below the perforated non-stick layer, allowing the flavours to come through while the food is cooking.

As well as BBQ/oven bags, Sirane manufactures a wide range of other cooking bags including steam-cooking bags for oven/microwave (including a new stand-up version), nylon roasting bags and sous-vide bags and even multi-compartment bags.

Steam-cooking bags can be supplied with custom printing, as self-seal or heat-seal, and even with a special vent – or in a new version, a stand-up pouch, which is becoming very popular, as it allows for enhanced retail presentation in a grab and go environment.

Jeremy Haydn-Davies, sales director, said: “Steam-cooking bags are gaining popularity the world over, as they are a great way of selling food which is easy to cook and ultimately very tasty. Bags of Ideas will take the customer through the main options available.

“We can even advise on how to make the most of your cooking bag, and suggest flavoured butters and put you in contact with the supplier, helping you create fresh ready meals.”

Nylon roasting bags are a terrific way of selling meat and poultry in a ‘ready to roast’ pack – nylon being the best elevated-temperature oven-ready material of its type on the market.
