Enaris is here.... Sirane's medical & healthcare division gets a new name

Enaris - the new name for Sirane Medical & Healthcare

PRODUCT manufacturing, expertise and product development are the foundations for a new medical & healthcare company launched earlier this month.

Enaris – the new name for Sirane’s medical division – has been created to service medical, laboratory, dental, care-home, emergency and veterinary sectors.

It has drawn on Sirane’s expertise in areas including absorbency and material science – as well as from listening to the needs of the market – to create a portfolio of products, many of which are available to buy online from www.enaris.co.uk

Jeremy Haydn-Davies, Enaris MD, said: “Enaris has been able to take Sirane’s existing expertise and use it to create an exciting new company focused on providing a service to new sectors where there is a gap in the market.

“We’re trying to make sure buyers can purchase from us exactly how they want to: hence the reason we’re launching a web-shop for many standard products… and of course, buying direct from the manufacturer, we can offer competitive prices.

“Enaris is also a development company, and from day one we will be happy to talk to customers about developing new products using our knowledge and expertise, and we’ll also be able to offer many products in bespoke versions.”

The company is adding an additional facility in Telford later this year, allowing Enaris to have separate manufacturing and independent office space.

Products manufactured by Enaris include non-slip disposable absorbent floor mats used in NHS operating theatres, compliant specimen transportation packaging including 95 kPa bags, and products such as spill pads and incontinence sheets.

The company has a diverse product range, with products also including Cellosene absorbent wadding, BenchSafe spillage protection, and DiffX non-chlorine disinfection. Enaris.co.uk is split up into six sectors: medical; lab; dental; care; emergency, and veterinary – to help customers easily find what they need.

Jeremy Haydn-Davies added: “Enaris is the result of careful planning, and we’re very pleased to be finally able to share our plans. Customers know they can save money by going direct to the manufacturer, and we’ve listened to what they want.

“We’ve got a great sales team in place, and we’re looking forward to getting out to visit customers – old and new – and sharing the Enaris vision with them.”

Simon Balderson, Sirane Group MD, said: “For Sirane, creating Enaris as a separate entity to our other existing business makes complete sense.

“Enaris has a new, fresh brand with a clear identity. It’s modern, with a new website reflecting the needs of users in a modern healthcare sector. Enaris opens up many possibilities for us, and I am looking forward to seeing the company grow.

“Enaris will evolve as the medical world evolves. We can access and develop new technologies, and will constantly be innovating to keep up with requirements.”

Sales contacts will remain the same; James Hemmings is the Enaris National Sales Manager, while Jonathan Mason is Business Development Manager.

Contact James Hemmings on 07483 984622 or Jonathan Mason on 07837 047648.

Enaris will be exhibiting at Health+Care Show at the ExCeL Arena, London, from June 28-29, 2017. Our stand is J66. For more information on the company, or any of the products, visit www.enaris.co.uk or email james.hemmings@enaris.co.uk

PACKAGING INNOVATIONS 2017: Turn your oven/BBQ cooking bags into ‘bags of flavour’

Oven/BBQ cooking bags with added flavours

AN OVENABLE cooking bag which uses herbs and spices to flavour the food while cooking is the latest product from innovative food packaging manufacturer Sirane.

Bags of Ideas – a new campaign from Sirane aimed at showcasing our cooking bag solutions – will feature the flavoursome addition to our BBQ/oven cooking bag range: and it is cooking bags which will form the focus of our stand at Packaging Innovations at the NEC, Birmingham, from March 1-2.

The new addition uses a blend of kilned beech mixed with frozen herbs and spices, which are placed in a sachet and slipped below the bag’s siliconized layer.

Simon Balderson, Sirane MD, said: “We’ve got a great range of cooking bag solutions, and the next step for us is to find ways of making the bags even more innovative. This is a fairly simple idea, but one which transforms a cooking bag in to a bag of flavour.

“This could be a great option for retailers and a very versatile solution. It could be used over the counter with fresh food, supplied shipped into store with the flavour sachet already in the bag, or could even be used as part of a meal kit for the consumer to use.”

The Sira-Cook Supreme bag is simple to use, cooks food to perfection – and can be used in almost any cooking environment, from ovens to barbecues, griddles to hot plates. The wood chip sachet blended with herbs and spices is placed below the perforated non-stick layer, allowing the flavours to come through while the food is cooking.

Simon Balderson, Sirane managing director, said: “Our new Sira-Cook Supreme cooking bag has so many potential uses – and offers numerous advantages to users. But using the bag as a ‘’bag of flavour’ could really help retailers offer a truly stand-out product.

“It is a foil bag capable of withstanding significant direct heat, allowing for its use on a barbecue as well as in an oven. The food will be tender, retain all the juices and flavours as well as the goodness. This product is great for meat, poultry and seafood.

“For the customer there would be no mess, no smell, and no need to handle the food. The bag can be heat-sealed or folded over, and add genuine value to retail food sales.

“The bag is available in a number of sizes. It comes with a clear top panel – so users can see what’s being cooked – and can be heat-sealed or even supplied as self-seal.

“We’ve some interesting flavours on offer, with the potential to create bespoke flavours for individual customers, so this product has lots of potential – it is very exciting for us.”

The Sira-Cook Supreme bag comes with a great opening mechanism – when the bag is hot the top surface can be peeled away, leaving the food on a foil base. It can then be stirred, turned if required, allowed to cook for longer and browned, or served directly.

These bags can be supplied in FPS format – folded, packed and sealed – which is an individually-wrapped sachet perfect for use in meal kits and as part of ready meals.

Jeremy Haydn-Davies, sales director for food packaging, said: “The range of sizes offered mean we can offer Sira-Cook Supreme as a solution for numerous products.

“The option to either oven cook or use on the BBQ means you’re not relying on the English weather. But if the sun does come out, using the bags with added flavours could make it the easiest BBQ you’ve ever done…. and whatever you’re cooking there’s a flavour for it.”

We’ve six flavour combinations as standard: onion, mustard & spices; rosemary, juniper & spices; garlic, ginger & spices; mustard, sweet basil & spices; bay leaf, onion and spices, and juniper, pine cone and spices. However, other flavour combinations can be developed.

Sira-Cook Supreme bags are also part of our Thinking-Cooking portfolio – Sirane’s retail kitchen and cooking range – allowing the bags to be stocked as a stand-alone product.

As well as BBQ/oven bags, Sirane manufactures a wide range of other cooking bags including steam-cooking bags for oven/microwave (including a new stand-up version), nylon roasting bags and sous-vide bags and even multi-compartment bags.

Our stand at Packaging Innovations is E12. For more information, contact Jeremy Haydn-Davies at jeremy@sirane.com.
