Ovenable polyester film

POLYESTER ovenable bags & films are one of the ‘cooking bag’ options Sirane offers and the Sira-Cook TX range offers solutions for a wide range of sectors.

As well as ovenable bags – which are available in a wide range of sizes – our TX range includes foil-edged film and bread bags for heating par-baked bread.

Simon Balderson, Sirane MD, said: “Our polyester range, Sira-Cook TX, offers some great packaging solutions, including the popular ovenable bags.

“These bags are used across a wide range of sectors, including commercial catering and retail, and are primarily used for meat, seafood and vegetables.

“Our perforated bags are used in airlines etc to heat par-baked bread, and over the years this has also proven to be a very popular packaging solution.

“Foil-edged film is another unique product, which is very versatile. Supplied in reels, it is a very convenient solution for caterers and for butchers etc, looking for an easy-to-use solution which allows them to pack food in ovenable packaging.

Ovenable bags are also available pre-folded for use in meal kits etc.

We also offer bags in retail packs, using either the Look or Bakewell brand.

Steam cooking bags - options include multi-compartment

HEALTHY, simple, practical, fast & tasty – Sirane’s steam cooking bags allow you to send your customer home with packaging they can put straight in the oven or microwave.

Sirane’s steam-cooking bags are cook-in bags which allows all the flavours to be sealed in for simple, tasty cooking – perfect for healthy cooking and portion control, without sacrificing flavour. Heat-sealable and self-seal versions are available.

The bags are designed to be used safely in a conventional oven up to 200 degrees Celsius, in a microwave - and even in a freezer for subsequent reheating and eating.

And other options include full branding/custom print, stand-up bags for improved retail display (especially grab and go), multi-compartment and specially placed vents.

Jeremy Haydn-Davies, Sirane sales director, said: “Simple healthy steam cooking and straight-to oven or microwave food doesn’t have to sacrifice on flavours like many people think.

“Retailers are often looking for ways to improve sales, particularly of fresh food, better ways to present products, and for packaging solutions that their customers will appreciate– well our Sira-Cook steam-cooking bag range offers all that and more

“The bags are fantastic for fresh fish or meat counters in supermarkets, allowing a whole meal to be sealed in a bag and handed to the customer – it just needs cooking.

“Consumers often don’t know what to do with fish, they don’t know how to cook it. Our bags can help increase seafood sales significantly, as you can hand over a piece of fish, in a bag, with a nice sauce – all you need to do is advise how long to cook it for.

“You can’t print your brand on the bag, and you can print the cooking instructions on the bag. It really can be that simple – or we can supply one with generic instructions.

“People have lots of reasons for wanting to cook steamed food in this way. For some it is the convenience, for some it is for health reasons, for some it could be as simple as portion control and knowing exactly what they’re eating. But for all of them, it can still be tasty.

“And often, when people do cook this way, they find it is a way of cooking stunning food easily. A real advantage of our steam cooking bags is the simplicity of the products.”

“Using a steam-cooking bag retains all the flavours, it allows people to cook quickly and easily with fresh ingredients. Healthy eating and fast food can be combined.”

All the natural flavours of the meat, fish or vegetables are sealed in the bag during cooking, creating a sensational and healthy meal. Flavoured butters and glazes can be added.

Our steam cooking bags can be used as a retail counter bag – but are also available in small individually-wrapped sachets, for use as parts of meal kits, ready meals etc.

“Sell your fish, poultry or vegetables in a bag or with some bags, the choice is yours,” added Mr Haydn-Davies. “Either way, you’re making it easier for your customers.”

Our steam cooking bags have been developed by Sirane’s engineers and scientists. They are made from very high temperature resistant film, which combines practicality with simplicity. The meal is sealed in using a fold-over flap and the bag becomes odour and leak-proof.

Simon Balderson, Sirane’s MD, said: “Steam cooking bags are not only perfect for home users wanting to create a simple yet tasty meal, but also for retailers wanting to send customers home with a great tasting meal to put straight into the oven or microwave.”
