Absorbent meat and poultry products among those on show at IPPE

IF ABSORBENCY is what you’re after while visiting IPPE in Atlanta this week, then head for Sirane’s stand and find out what we can bring to the North America market.

IPPE – the International Production & Processing Expo – began in Atlanta, yesterday (January 27th) and runs for three days. The show is an amalgamation of three successful shows, including the former International Poultry Expo and the International Meat Expo.

More than 1,100 exhibitors and an estimated 25,000 visitors make it one of the biggest trade shows dedicated to the meat and poultry sector held anywhere in the world.

Adam Green, president of Sirane North America, and Sirane MD Simon Balderson are among the people on our stand representing Sirane North America at the show.

Simon Balderson said: “As anticipated, absorbency and oven-ready packaging were two of the areas of food packaging that were generating a high level of interest yesterday. These are two areas in which Sirane has a significant level of expertise and can make a difference.

“We have a wide range of absorbent products perfect for meat and poultry packaging, including odour-absorbing pads for meat and poultry and anti-bacterial pads."

Products on show include Dri-Fresh Fresh-Hold OA pads - suitable for packaging many meats, including lamb, pork, gammon, beef & poultry. The pads combine standard absorbency with odour absorbency, and stop customers wrongly believing food is off due to unpleasant smells; food returned to the store can cost the industry millions of pounds a year.

Sirane’s Dri-Fresh® absorbent pads combine easy handling and excellent appearance to provide cost-effective absorption for food packages, particularly for meat, seafood & poultry.

Jeremy Haydn-Davies, sales director, said: “Sirane’s absorbent pads can make a big difference in packed meat, poultry and seafood – the food arrives with the end user in a much better condition, and its on-the-shelf appearance is much more attractive. They can also have a positive effect on shelf-life and help reduce the amount of food wasted.

“These products have made a significant difference to the way many packers and retailers approach meat and poultry packaging in Europe. We’re now keen to share our products, expertise and enthusiasm with new customers across North America.”

“Dri-Fresh® absorbent pads have three key aims – the absorbency must be right for the product, and absorb everything it needs to, and the pad needs to look as attractive as possible. They are also very practical and easy to use for the producer.”

Dri-Fresh® absorbent pads are available in a range of colours, absorption levels, shapes and sizes to suit all applications. Single-sided or double-sided pads are available.

Sirane is an innovative packaging design, development, manufacture and solutions company which specialises in areas including absorbency and ovenable/microwaveable products, compostable packaging, films, boards, absorbent pads, and much more.

Sirane’s stand at IPPE is in Hall B, and is Stand B8378.

IPPE - your chance to meet Sirane North America in Atlanta

ARE you heading for the International Production & Processing Expo in Atlanta this week? If so, it’s a great chance to go and meet the team representing Sirane North America.

IPPE – the International Production & Processing Expo – is in Atlanta, Georgia, from January 27th-29th, 2015. The show is an amalgamation of three successful shows, including the former International Poultry Expo and the International Meat Expo.

More than 1,100 exhibitors and an estimated 25,000 visitors make it one of the biggest trade shows dedicated to the meat and poultry sector held anywhere in the world – and following a great 2014, Sirane is beginning 2015 with a first ever visit to the popular show.

Adam Green, president of Sirane North America, said: “Anyone who is anyone in the meat and poultry world from across North America and beyond will be at the IPPE, and so it is the perfect show for us to introduce our packaging solutions to the market – we’re really looking forward to meeting people from within the industry as well as seeing familiar faces.

“Sirane has lots to offer the meat and poultry market, but in particular we will focus on absorbent packaging solutions and packaging for the oven/microwave.

“We’ve got some incredible products, many of which are completely new to the North America market and will generate a lot of interest. These include odour-absorbing pads for meat, anti-bacterial pads, and a range of oven and microwave cooking materials.”

Products on show at the IPPE will include Dri-Fresh Fresh-Hold OA pads - suitable for packaging many meats, including lamb, pork, gammon, beef & poultry. The pads combine standard absorbency with odour absorbency, and stop customers wrongly believing food is off – and have been used successfully in meat going into many UK supermarkets.

Sirane’s Dri-Fresh® absorbent pad range combines easy handling and excellent appearance to provide cost-effective absorption for food packages, particularly meat, seafood & poultry.

Simon Balderson, Sirane managing director, said: “Sirane’s absorbent pads can make a big difference in packaged meat, poultry and seafood – the food arrives with the end user in a much better condition, and its on-the-shelf appearance is much more attractive. We’re keen to share our products, expertise and enthusiasm with customers across North America.

“I am joining the Sirane North America team on the stand, and I am really looking forward to discovering more about the industry across the Atlantic and how we can help. The Dri-Fresh® absorbent range is one range that I’m sure will generate substantial interest.

Other products on show will include Siralon – a nylon-based food packaging material suitable for a flow-wrap process which will allow retailers to pack, ship and sell – and the customer cook in the oven or microwave – in the same packaging. Siralon is a world first – the first nylon food packaging material that can run down a flow-wrap machine.

Adam Green said: “Siralon is a stunning solution for retails in North America to consider. It is easy to use, can be printed, and is a strong, durable material. Not only that, but the results when cooked are spectacular – moist, succulent flavoursome meat.”

Siralon won’t go brittle like many straight-to-oven packaging solutions. It can also be cooked at a higher temperature, meaning the cooking times can be reduced.

Sirane also has many more products perfect for the meat and poultry industry, including a range of boneguard materials – including sticky boneguard – and other papers. Samples of all these products and more will be available in the stand at the IPPE.

Sirane is an innovative packaging design, development, manufacture and solutions company which specialises in areas including absorbency and ovenable/microwaveable products, compostable packaging, films, boards, absorbent pads, and much more.

Sirane’s stand at IPPE will be in Hall B, and is Stand B8378.
